Located between East Hampton and Montauk, Amagansett is one of the most popular communities in the Hamptons. Here you will be able to find both, bay and ocean beaches. The crowd attracted ranges from local families with children to celebrities, surfers, and even hipsters. It offers immaculate white sand beaches, striking oceanfront views and a local historic "downtown" area with restaurants and shops. The business district offers everything from gourmet restaurants to music venues and farmers markets. A local favorite being The Stephen Talkhouse. Amagansett’s name originates from a Native American Montaukett word for “place of good water.” The neighborhood has plenty to do and see such as a Marine Museum, hiking trails, nature preserves. Amagansett also hosts the annual Sand Castle Contest each summer.
